With the offseason 5 weeks away, I'd like to get an idea of how people want to handle free agency. It is pretty obvious that contracts are dead and would be nearly impossible to reconcile, especially since no one has stated years on free agent additions this year (with the exception of Neal haha). We have talked about how to handle this moving forward, and it seems the best solution is to drop the roster maximum down to like 24 (still open to opinions on that actual figure too). That would allow teams to keep their starting nucleus, but also continue free agency which is crucial to teams that are rebuilding.
If we do this though, I will have to point out that we may need to give everyone a "FBD stimulus" since everyone will need to immediately replace 8-10 players; nothing crazy, just like 10% of your FBD's after the offseason additions.
Also, if there are other ideas, please mention in the comments.
Lastly, I want to make it clear that this is just to get a clear picture of what everyone wants to do. Den would have the final say.

I think we need more change. I say we keep a small amount of players and redraft each year (because we all love a good draft). I say we keep 1QB 1RB 2WR 1TE 1DE 1LB 1DB and everyone else goes back into the draft pool. Keep the rookie draft separate and makes rules to keep your draft picks for a year or two. This will keep the league more active. No more contracts. Give out football dollars each year (no carry over) Draft order can be determined how ever we decide and keep the rookie draft the same.

Man it would be hard to give up that many players just to keep the league active. I was just trying to think of ways to keep free agency going without contracts. Only keeping 12 players would change the face of every team, and people have invested a ton of time into building their "dynasty."
Personally, I'd hate to give up Marshawn Lynch AND Tre Mason, just because I have LeVeon. It punishes teams that have drafted well (and got a little lucky along the way lol).

Den has already stated that hes out after this year.
You have to keep in mind what teams have done this season...like myself...i traded a lot of guys to build a RB stable...i do not want to drop a bunch of the rbs i acquired.
I think we need to dump contracts....as we are all too busy. Reformat the fbds...reset them so to speak...or give everyone a set amount and let teams roll over what they already have.
And we need some new owners.
Heres an idea....how bout every year we do an expansion like draft. Every year...teams have to give up say...5 players...all go into a pool and we have a draft ...based on not wins and losses...but points scored last season...lowest scorimg te picks first...try and get some balance

If den is out then there is no way just to give his team to someone. that's like what roger did for cyclones and handed him a winner. We also can't reset football dollars because some of us didn't waste them so that would be unfair to me and kelper for saving our money. If we have to drop players I can ditch my secondary and not miss a beat. We need a big switch up. I understand we all built our team and so have I but with no activity and a few good owners we need to keep less players. if we keep two RB's instead of one and made a taxi squad rule that's lets us hide a couple players for two years to let them develop.

i like barkers knittels or barkers idea.. i'm not into the whole keeping a few players and drafting over and over each year. kind of defeats this being a "dynasty" league. I think the FBDs should be rolled over and just keep the same concept as before. Everyone gets FBDs after the year based on standings. If you wanna spend them spend them if not just save them like a few have been doing. I don't think you need a "big switch up". Not every team is going to be able to compete regardless of what is done. Add a few new owners who are active and know what there doing should be good enough.

I like no more contracts.
I like trimming rosters and having a "veteran" draft and a separate rookie draft. I would suggest a cap of no more than 12 or so offensive players (excluding kickers) can be carried over.
Keep all current FBDs and give everyone more for the new year. Since FA will just be post draft and during the season we wont need a shit load since all the good players will be gone by then. One way to award FBDs is by transaction activity. More trades and FA signings, more FBDs. So I'd get very little but vandals get lots of bonus FBDs for being so active.
